The Best OSRS Account Build for Learning to PK
So you want to learn how to PK in Old School RuneScape. Before you start googling "best pure build" and spiralling down a rabbit hole of account restrictions and combat level debates, stop. There's a simpler answer, and you probably already have it.
Just use your main.
Why Your Main is the Best Account to Learn PK On
New PKers consistently make the same mistake: they think the first step is building a specialised account. They spend weeks training a pure or a zerker — and then step into the wilderness completely lost, getting smashed by players who've been PKing for years on those exact builds.
The problem isn't the build. The problem is they haven't learned the fundamentals yet.
PKing requires you to manage a lot at once: prayer flicking, gear switching, reading your opponent, timing special attacks. You don't need the added complexity of tight stat restrictions on top of all that. Your main removes the ceiling — high stats give you more margin for error while you're still learning the ropes.
What Stats Do You Need?
You can start at pretty much any combat level. Whatever your main has is already better than starting from scratch on a restricted build. That said, Magic is worth paying attention to.
Ice Blitz (level 82) is a solid starting point — it's a strong freeze spell that'll serve you well while you're getting your bearings. But 94 Magic and Ice Barrage is the real target to work towards. Barrage is the backbone of virtually every competitive PK style, and once you've got the fundamentals down you'll want it. It's a noticeable upgrade and most serious PKing revolves around it.
If you're not at 82 Magic yet, that's your first goal. Then work towards 94 when you're ready.
The Bottom Line
Jump on your main, get your Magic level up if needed, and go lose some fights in the wilderness. Dying is how you learn. The players dominating PvP aren't winning because they picked the perfect account build — they're winning because they've put in the hours.
Start on your main. Learn the game. Specialise later.
